I know. Pause. Rewind. How’d we get here? Well, let me tell you.
I’ve always craved fame. Wanted to be partying with half-naked chicks in the club while I sang the hip-hop tunes I’ve been writing ever since I was fifteen.
So when I get a cold call from the sexy as hell Nina Rosales and her husband Leonardo offering me a recording contract, I jump at it. Anyone would. Sure, they turn out to be demons, drug me with an elixir that nearly kills me, and make me sign some bogus contract making me their “Harbinger of Darkness,” whatever the hell that means, but hey. Fame and fortune. Worth it.
Never mind that they’ll eat my soul for breakfast if I try to renege… Or that they want me to shatter the barrier between the human and demon worlds so they can take over.
And there’s the itty bitty complication that I might have fallen in love with Nina. (Let’s not talk about Leonardo.)
But now I’m at a crossroads. Do I stay with Nina and Leonardo? Or weasel out of my contract?
